Sustainable Development Goals and Global Agenda: Vision and Key Opportunities
Started Sep 27, 2021
Full course description
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, both now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - an urgent call to action for all countries, developed and developing, requiring a global partnership for successful implementation. The SDGs highlight that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
This course is designed to contribute to continuing personal and professional development. Participants will improve their ethical compass and explore positive social and/or environmental impact through collective action and macro-level thinking. Participants will learn about best practices within a shared global framework. Participants will also develop a deeper understanding of basic standards of wellbeing and human rights conceptions.
